An active sex life can help you feel good and stay healthy. But other times it’s better to keep it private—not everyone needs to know what you’ve been up to after the sun goes down. But everything appears on social networks, including the fact that dentists know if their clients have recently engaged in oral sex.
It started when a 47-year-old man’s dentist told him that the soft tissue on his palate didn’t look “right”. Doctors began to investigate, but it turned out that the person had simply recently given oral sex to another man. There’s even scientific evidence to prove it—dentists can spot signs that you’ve recently given someone oral pleasure. This fact even became a real sensation on TikTok, but, of course, social networks tend to dramatize everything.
First of all, these signs are not so obvious – it is possible that the person sitting in the dentist’s chair simply sucked a candy very vigorously. And only one type of oral sex leaves these marks – only the marks of oral stimulation of the male genitalia are visible. And, of course, they do not always remain – only when the sex was frequent and/or very intense.
Signs of oral sex are visible lesions or even small wounds on the palate. They are caused by, let’s say, intense sucking – whether it’s a candy or an icicle or whatever… When people suck on something, they reduce the air pressure in their mouth. The soft and pliable cheeks sink into the oral cavity, but the soft tissues that are firmly attached to the skull structure cannot move and can be damaged precisely because of this pressure. Lesions disappear quickly and are usually not dangerous, but when they are noticed, dentists sometimes suspect disease or infection, so it is better to admit it if you know what could have caused it. In addition, these lesions can actually become pathways for sexually transmitted infections, which is just one of the reasons why the safety of oral sex is just a myth.
