In an unexpected Twitter post, video, and image sharing site OnlyFans has announced that the shocking announcement that sexual content will be banned from the site has been removed.
In a statement to The Verge, a spokesman for the site said: ” The proposed changes are no longer necessary on 1 October 2021, as banking partners have confirmed that OnlyFans can support all types of content creators .”
The statement comes just a day after the CEO of OnlyFans told the Financial Times that the reason for the ban was actually problems with bank partners, not Mastercard, as some had assumed.
Now, content creators, many of whom had already begun deleting videos and images on the site that violated the rules, or had begun moving their subscriber base to new platforms, are faced with a choice. They can either stay with a partner who has grown into a multi-million dollar company over time, providing adult content, or leave the site, which seems to have disappointed any content creator. Eventually, thanks to the content creators, the site also became so popular.
