The US company Viatris, which owns the male potency improvement drug Viagra, has stopped supplying Russia. Representatives of the Russian health system claim that there are enough analogues. Some Russian sexologist has even publicly stated in the media that the penis can be whipped with nettles, and the effect will be the same.
For the publication Podjom, sexologist and sexopathologist Yury Prokopenko advised Russians not to panic about the withdrawal of the Viagra brand from the Russian market and to use the Russian-made Severnaya zvezda.
“Viagra can also be replaced with nettles. But who needs it? The same “Viagra” is even produced here. In the “Severnaya zvezda” factory. There can be many preparations. It all depends on where the cause is. Not the symptoms, but the cause. Therefore, in many cases, you can do without “Viagra”. However, if we talk about the drug, which was originally called sildenafil (and “Viagra” is only its trademark), then the same drug is also released by “Severnaya zvezda”, explained J. Prokopenko.
Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade announced that eight pharmaceutical companies registered in Russia are capable of producing drugs based on sildenafil.
Last year, fearing the impact of sanctions, Russians bought almost twice as many potency-improving drugs compared to 2021.
