Europe and America are very different parts of the world. In Europe, people have several weeks’ leave each year and well-functioning medical care. America, meanwhile, has arms-tolerant laws and many world-class actors live there. However, no matter which side of the Atlantic we live on, everyone loves sex equally.
Modern cultural exchanges and travel have given sex a new meaning, which varies considerably from one geographical area to another.
The electronic health counseling platform zavamed.com conducted a survey of 500 Americans and 500 Europeans from Belgium, the United Kingdom, Spain, Switzerland, Portugal, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Germany and Austria. Questions were asked about the most coveted parts of the body, mistrust, favorite sex postures and other intimate topics .
So what were the questions and how did the answers show the main differences and similarities between Americans and Europeans?
THE MOST ATTRACTIVE PART OF THE BODY IS THE GROIN
Women’s responses revealed both differences and similarities: both Americans and Europeans find men’s shoulders (7% women) and faces (11% women) equally attractive. The main difference became apparent when choosing other parts of the body. Americans valued the penis, arms and waist more, while Europeans chose the man’s bottom and back. Europeans were also particularly positive about the men’s groin area.
Men’s responses were significantly more modest. The results showed that American men prefer female bottoms over Europeans. But in essence, the answers showed that men are not so different when it comes to the most attractive place in a woman’s body – they all like the three parts of the body almost equally – hips, chest and buttocks.
AMERICANS SAY THEY DON’T CHEAT ON THEIR LOVED ONES
On the issue of infidelity, most American men said they had never cheated on their partners (almost 70% of those surveyed), while less than 60% of Europeans said they did the same. The same trend applies to women: almost 60% of American women said they had never cheated on their partner, and only 35% of European women said they were loyal.
MISSIONARY AND DOGGY SEX POSES ARE FAVORITE
Among all the surveyed men, the most popular was the dog sex position – it is chosen by 28.1% of respondents. The following are the positions of the equestrian and missionaries.
Meanwhile, women said they liked missionary postures the most (36.3%). The second favorite was the doggy pose (22.2%) and only the third place was taken by the rider. The least popular posture among all respondents was the spooning posture and the standing posture. Summarizing the results, it can be said that both Americans and Europeans like simple, traditional sex poses.
BEACH SEX, CONTRACEPTIVES AND FETISHES
Despite all the cultural, geographical and gender differences, there are similarities in the intimate lives of Europeans and Americans. Clearly, condoms have become the most popular and most commonly used method of contraception. In Europe and America, men and women chose condoms as their primary method of protection. Birth control pills are also popular among European women.
When asked about their favorite type of fetish, men did not mention anything, and women – both American and European – said they liked intimate role-playing games. Interestingly, European men dream of having sex on the beach, while all other groups of respondents like to have sex only in bed. In addition, all men and women surveyed claimed to have lost their virginity at home.
