Have you ever thought about the possibility of breaking your penis during sex? It turns out that it is possible – you can break your penis during sex and apparently there are certain positions that make this injury particularly likely, according to new research.
So what exactly does it mean to “break a penis”?
Unfortunately, there are various ways in which the penis can be injured during sex.
If you and your significant other are particularly energetic, your penis can slip out and bend violently, or the foreskin can be torn.
You can also get scratches, burns, bite marks and even allergic reactions from low-quality sex toys and synthetic lubricants.
How do you know if you have a penile fracture?
A penile fracture is a tear in one or both of the tunica albuginea (the membrane that covers the erectile tissue of the penis).
It is caused by rapid thrust force on the penis during erection and usually occurs during vaginal intercourse or aggressive masturbation.
If you feel pain after intercourse, you should ALWAYS see a doctor.
In many cases, people leave their injuries untreated out of embarrassment, but this should not be done if you want to deal with the problem.
Which position most often cause your penis to break?
As part of a new study titled “Relationship between sexual position and severity of penile fracture” doctors discovered which movements were the most dangerous.
It will seem surprising, because the study revealed that the doggy style position is the most dangerous – 41% of penile fractures occur precisely because of this position.
3 sex positions most likely to injure a man’s penis
- Doggy style
- Missionary – man on top
- Cowgirl – woman on top
The missionary position, when the man is on top, came in second place. On average, it caused 25 percent of penile fractures.
In third place was the cowgirl sex position, also known as the woman on top.
The researchers noted that doggy style and missionary sex position can cause similar serious penile fractures, but the “breaks” caused by the cowgirl position were not as severe.
The researchers explain: “We did not observe a difference in penile fracture severity between ‘doggy style’ and ‘man on top’, but ‘doggy style’ had a more severe penile fracture compared to the ‘woman on top.’
