A large number of people around the world eat before and after sex. But what products should be avoided in order not to spoil the spicy continuation?
The popular health app Lifesum analyzed its user data to find out which foods people eat the most before and after sex. Of the 2,563 food products, chocolate was the most popular. Tomatoes came in second, followed by bread, apples, potatoes, coffee, bananas, wine, cheese and strawberries.
After sex, people usually enjoy the same products, but it’s not surprising that wine is replaced with water, according to healthline.com.
“Lifesum” nutritionist Frida Harju-Westman reveals that the results of the study are not surprising. Both chocolate and tomatoes are great snacks that are full of vitamins and other beneficial substances.
What products should be avoided before sex?
However, there are some foods that should not be eaten before sex. They can create a feeling of heaviness and mostly spoil the intimate night.
Elaina Lo, nutritionist at Your Food as Medicine, says it’s best to avoid processed foods. “It is best to limit the consumption of foods that are high in salt and sugar, to reduce the consumption of fat to maintain normal blood circulation,” she says.
A glass of romantic wine is also not the best choice. On the one hand, it is full of antioxidants, but too much wine can make you drowsy. Research also shows that people who drink alcohol are more likely to report feelings of sexual dysfunction and dissatisfaction after sex.
Also, many people choose to snack on cheese and bread, but these products do not really increase sexual libido, on the contrary, they cause cramps and bloated stomach.
Overall, research shows that those who eat a diet rich in nuts, fish foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, fruits and green leafy vegetables are more likely to feel more active, achieve arousal faster and experience quality sexual pleasure.
You can also eat ground linseeds, oysters, pumpkin seeds, pomegranate seeds and avocado before sexual intercourse – these are natural aphrodisiacs that will help you enjoy quality and pleasant sex.
