Three men who admitted to regularly sleeping with prostitutes shared why they do so and what do they think about the experience.
When Peter James got on the plane to go on vacation to San Antonio, he didn’t think about the sun and sea that awaited him there. The 25-year-old computer engineer thinks about only one thing – how many prostitutes he will manage to sleep with during the trip. He is one of around 3.8 million men in the UK who have paid for sex at some point in their lives. This means that in Great Britain alone, every eighth man has done it, writes mirror.co.uk.
These statistics are even more shocking when you consider that tens of thousands of prostitutes are victims of human trafficking. In 2017, 1115 women were identified as sex slaves, and the National Crime Agency says this figure is only a small fraction of all victims of human trafficking.
Although prostitution is legal in the UK, most men do not admit to buying sex. But three men reveal why they do this.
15 precious minutes
Peter James, a 25-year-old computer engineer, currently single and living in Bristol, shares his experience. He first paid for sex with a prostitute three years ago while staying in Amsterdam’s Red Light District. “The boys and I went on vacation for the weekend. There were a dozen of us and we all decided to sleep with prostitutes. And with this experience we can only be happy. The girls were amazing. The girl I chose had an amazing height and her looks were stunning. She knew exactly what to do to get me excited. But everything lasted only a quarter of an hour. The next customer was already waiting outside the door. All that was left to do was laugh.” 25-year-old Peter says that these 15 minutes “cost him dearly” – more than 150 euros.
“Even though the sex was good, you could clearly see that she was only in it for the money. Although many of my friends enjoyed the experience, on reflection I realized that I was not that pleased,” he said.
Mutual benefit
The other man is Michael, a 35-year-old truck driver. He is married to 40-year-old Michelle. They have three children and they live in Coventry. Michael thinks he did nothing wrong sleeping with a prostitute because when his wife was expecting, she wouldn’t let him get close.
The man corrects himself: “Every time my partner is pregnant, it’s hard for her. If she’s not throwing up, her hormones are causing a real storm. She made it clear that the least she wants during her pregnancy is for me to try to get her into bed.” Instead, Michael met a “girl” at one of his favorite bars: “My friends and I were sitting at a bar, and they recommended a woman who was willing to accept money in exchange for oral or other sex. It’s a win-win. I paid her in cash. I don’t take risks either, I don’t need to look for anything on the Internet, on suspicious sites. It’s a good deal.” Michael does not feel guilty for his actions. He says: “This woman knows the situation in my family. She herself has a family, raises children. She doesn’t really have romantic feelings for me, the feeling is mutual. It’s weird to know she’s slept with my friends, but it’s comforting at the same time. We trust her and she trusts us.”
I get the most pleasure from experimenting with prostitutes
25-year-old Simon hides from his girlfriend the fact that he regularly sleeps with prostitutes. They have been together for three years. “My friend Debbie is amazing. She meets all my requirements. She is smart, funny and successful. She likes sex as much as I do, but when you do it with the same person day after day, it gets boring. I’m sure if I told Debbie what I’d like to try in bed, she’d agree. But at the end of the day, it would still be sex with the same person,” he explains. Therefore, 25-year-old Simon believes that it is better to pay for sex “without any obligations, because there is no emotion in such a contract, it is only a financial transaction”.
I would never risk a one night stand. When I pay to prostitutes, I know that they will not judge me and that my needs will be met.” Simon, who lives in Leicester, says he pays for sex every “couple of months” and that Debbie has never suspected him of it. “I can’t talk to Debbie. She would just laugh, or worse, tell her friends about it. It would ruin our social life and possibly that would be the end of the relationship. I pay around 300 euros for the session and it is worth every cent. I wouldn’t want Debbie to know that I get the most pleasure out of experimenting with prostitutes.”
